Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) generally refers to the process by which a student's knowledge acquired through previous education or work experience is considered valid within the scope of a current academic program.
When reviewing the guidelines and procedures of the Karabük University Faculty of Medicine, several key points regarding RPL should be taken into account:
-
Exemption Requests: The guidelines state that exemption requests can be made for courses that have been successfully completed at another higher education institution.
-
For an exemption to be granted, the course contents and the transcript must be submitted to the relevant authority.
-
Exemptions are evaluated by the relevant commission and boards, taking into account a seventy percent compatibility requirement.
-
The equivalence and approval of courses are thoroughly examined in exemption requests to determine whether the courses are equivalent to those in the Karabük University Faculty of Medicine curriculum.
-
Exemptions are not granted for courses deemed not equivalent.
-
For national and international transfers, students arriving through national or international exchange programs are required to complete any missing courses.
