Employment Areas

Medical school graduates have a wide range of employment opportunities and can benefit from various career prospects in both the healthcare sector and academia. Within this broad spectrum, the fields can be listed as follows:

Working as a General Practitioner in Public and Private Institutions

Medical school graduates have the opportunity to secure employment as general practitioners with the title of "Medical Doctor" after graduation. They can work in public institutions, particularly in units affiliated with the Ministry of Health such as hospitals, Family Health Centers (FHC) and Community Health Centers (CHC). Additionally, they have the chance to work as general practitioners in private hospitals, polyclinics, or other healthcare organizations.

Medical Specialization Training (TUS) and Working in a Specialization Field

Graduates have the right to receive specialization training in a specific medical field by taking the Medical Specialization Exam (TUS). Physicians who complete the specialization training earn the title of Specialist Physician in the relevant branch. At the end of this process, they can work as specialist physicians in both public and private healthcare institutions. Specialization fields include many branches such as cardiology, pediatrics, surgical specialties, radiology, and dermatology.

Academic Career Opportunities

Medical school graduates, thanks to the Master's Degree obtained after graduation, have the right to pursue an academic career by applying to relevant doctoral programs at universities. During their doctoral studies, they can advance to academic positions by conducting research in basic medical sciences (for example, anatomy, pharmacology, microbiology) or in clinical medicine. This pathway is suitable for graduates who wish to engage in scientific research and build an academic career.

Public Health and Management Fields

Graduates may choose to work in the field of public health. They can serve as public health experts or administrators within the Ministry of Health, contributing to the development of health policies. Additionally, by taking on management roles within the healthcare system, they can work as hospital administrators, health policy analysts, or in consultancy.

Private Sector and Entrepreneurship

Medical school graduates can assume research, development, and consultancy roles in companies that develop medical devices, in the pharmaceutical industry, or in organizations developing health technologies. They can also engage in entrepreneurial activities by establishing their own clinics or healthcare organizations.

International Work Opportunities

Since medical education is designed in accordance with international standards, graduates have the opportunity to practice medicine abroad by meeting equivalency requirements. In particular, they can work in specialization or research fields in developed countries.

Research and Development (R&D)

Graduates can participate in R&D projects in interdisciplinary fields such as biotechnology, genetic engineering, and pharmacology with appropriate doctoral degrees. These projects are generally supported by universities, research centers, or the private sector.

With their knowledge and competencies, medical school graduates have the potential to create a broad impact in both the healthcare sector and scientific research.
