Program Content
Karabük University Faculty of Medicine was established by the decree dated 01.02.2010 and numbered 210/103. Our faculty consists of three departments: Basic Medical Sciences, Internal Medical Sciences, and Surgical Medical Sciences. Our students began their education in the Faculty of Medicine Building, located within the Central Campus of Karabük University, starting from the 2016-2017 academic year.
The education is conducted within the framework of the Core Curriculum (UÇEP, 2020). Under the shared usage protocol with the Ministry of Health, both education and healthcare practices are carried out at the Karabük University Training and Research Hospital.
The Faculty of Medicine education is structured into the following phases and grades:
-
1st and 2nd Term: Learning the healthy structure.
-
3rd Term: Learning the mechanisms of disease formation.
-
4th and 5th Term: Learning diagnosis and treatment.
-
6th Term: Family medicine (internship doctorship).
From the first grade onward, clinical and professional skills training is provided to facilitate early clinical encounters. In addition, the main and detailed learning objectives taught by each discipline have been coded within the hierarchy of class, board, and department, and teaching limits have been defined. Primary and secondary source materials, in line with UÇEP, have been identified and communicated to our students. Based on these sources, a verifiable educational structure has been established.
The education is continuously shaped in light of structured feedback from the students, and swift solutions are produced when challenges arise.
