Karabuk University Faculty of Medicine

Karabuk University Faculty of Medicine was established with the decree dated 01.02.2010 and numbered 210/103. Our faculty consists of 3 departments: Basic Medical Sciences, Internal Medical Sciences, and Surgical Medical Sciences, and the following academic staff:

  • 15 Professor Doctors
  • 21 Associate Professor Doctors
  • 48 Assistant Professors
  • 20 Research Assistants

Education and Training

Our students have started their education in the Faculty of Medicine Building located in Karabük University Demirçelik Campus since the 2016-2017 Academic Year. Education is carried out within the framework of the Core Education Program (CEP). Within the scope of the joint use protocol with the Ministry of Health, education and health practices are carried out at Karabük University Training and Research Hospital.

Phases and Classes

Our medical education is structured in the following phases and classes:

  • 1st and 2nd grade: Learning about a healthy structure
  • 3rd grade: Learning the mechanism of diseases
  • 4th and 5th grade: Learning about diagnosis and treatment
  • 6th grade: Family medicine (internship)

Early Clinical Education

Starting from the first year, our students receive clinical and professional skills training to provide early clinical exposure. Additionally, the main and detailed learning objectives of each discipline are coded within the hierarchy of classes, boards, and departments, and the teaching boundaries are clearly defined.

Resources and Training Materials

In our faculty, primary and secondary sources that align with the CEP have been identified and announced to our students. An auditable education system has been structured based on these resources. Training is continuously shaped by structured feedback from students, and quick solutions are implemented to address any issues.

Our Goals

As Karabük University Faculty of Medicine, our goal is to train physicians who are educated in accordance with the needs of our country, have high self-confidence, respect national and moral values, are worthy of their families, and have a desire to serve their homeland and nation.
